Minnesota Valley Canning Co. created a Green Giant for their product advertising. Early on, he had a frown and a hunched back, and looked more like a super villain than the happy gardener you see today.
When Mr. Burnett did an extreme makeover that included a smile, improved posture and added the name “Jolly” to the giant’s name, things were about to change. These little changes made a giant impact.
By 1950, Minnesota Valley changed its name to Green Giant Co.
