I love that Cingular Wireless commercial.

There’s a commercial out right now for Cingular wireless.
Roger Clemens is talking to his wife to get her feedback on him returning to the New York Yankees.
The call gets dropped while she’s trying to tell him not to comeback. He gets back with the Yankees and we all know how that worked out.
This is only one of a series of really funny commercials that identify the problems in communication people have when they only hear one side of a story.
The problem for many small businesses is that their online communications have a similar problem. They use their website to pursue old school marketing goals such as driving awareness, delivering information and encouraging purchase.
Web 2.0 enables two-way communication, the whole idea of moving customers through a structured consideration process needs to be rethought.
Your online marketing goal isn’t awareness, it’s interaction.
It’s all about getting your customer involved with your company, with your products, your employees.
Your online marketing should be a 2 way communication, identifying, caring for, and communicating with customers who are willing to help market your products to others.
Social media uses online technologies for user-generated content. Blogs contribute by sharing content that your customers can view and the search engines too.
